Good Afternoon Families,

I wanted to take a moment and thank all of you for your patience over the last few weeks. I also felt that it would be important for us as a school to send out the official press release that was shared following a 7:00 am board meeting.

If you have questions or concerns please reach out to me at Woodview (262) 376-5750

Michael McMahon

Over the past weekend, Board President Terry Ziegler and Bob Maronde had the opportunity to speak directly about recent events. As a result of that discussion, a resolution of this matter has been reached. The Board regrets that this matter took so long to come to a resolution. Mr. Maronde, for his part, now recognizes that, while unintentional, the environment in his classroom on April 14 did not meet his own or the District’s high standards for a classroom environment. To resolve this matter, the District will be returning Mr. Maronde to his classroom for the remainder of the 2015-16 school year. The substitute teacher in his classroom will continue to work there as well to ensure a smooth and productive year-end for all of our students.

Mr. Maronde appreciates the support he was shown by many in the community. He has decided he will not return to the Grafton School District as either a coach or a teacher in the 2016-17 school year. He will, however, continue to provide his support wherever possible for the success of Grafton’s students, as well as members of the boys’ basketball team.

The Board is pleased this matter could be resolved, and that the community will support the efforts of the Board and the new Administration to provide the best quality education possible for our children.
