Winter Concert Details - December 19th @ 1:30 at GHS

We hope you and your family are able to join us for the Woodview Winter Concert An All-American Celebration! on Friday, December 19, at 1:30 PM in the Grafton High School Auditorium.  (Winter Program Woodview 2014Our students, 5K through 5th grade, will be performing at this event.  Here is a link to information about the performance:  https://www.smore.com/y6j1p

In addition, here are a few logistical points to ensure that the performance goes well and we are able to get students on and off the stage (and to and from Woodview) safely and efficiently.  Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated:

  • You may park in the Grafton Elementary School parking lot on the west side of the school near the tennis courts.  There is no parking in the high school parking lot.  Please do not park around our buses as we have a short time frame to return the students to Woodview from the high school at the end of the performance.  Also, please remember that school will be in session at both the elementary and high schools, so please be quiet and courteous when entering and exiting the building.
  • At the end of the performance, please remain seated until all students have exited the auditorium.  We realize this may add some time to your visit, but students will be exiting through the aisles, and it creates quite a bit of crowded confusion when families are trying to exit during this time as well.  In the interest of safety, all students will ride the buses back to Woodview after the program, and they will be dismissed from Woodview at the regular time.
  • Our music teachers have worked hard to teach our students proper concert etiquette.  Please help us model that behavior by making sure to turn off cell phones and other electronics during the performance so as not to distract the students and other audience members.  Recording and pictures of the performers are certainly fine, but please be aware of the other people around you so you do not block their view.  At the end of the concert, please do not try to take pictures with your child or their class as we will need to exit the auditorium quickly so we can get back to Woodview on time.  Your best bet is to take a picture of your child before they come to school in their concert best as the lighting in the auditorium, logistics of getting good pictures from a distance, and risk of potential stains (food, recess, etc.) during the course of the day combine to make a memorable photo far from a guarantee.
