End-of-Day Dismissal Information
Published on Aug 29, 2014 11:59

Dear Woodview Families,

Due to an updated transportation schedule and an extended school day, our instructional day will end at 3:20 PM this school year.  Following are some guidelines to help ensure that our dismissal goes smoothly and safely for our families and students:

--Due to new transportation routes across the district, your child’s bus number may have changed from previous years.  Please make sure to double check the bus number on the letter sent to families by Riteway last week and share that information with your child.

--Buses will be arriving and departing Woodview from about 3:25 - 3:35 PM.  5K-5th grade students will be called down to the front lobby when their buses arrive, and a staff member will make sure that they board the correct bus.

--In order to help make the bus-loading procedure go efficiently, those families picking up their children should aim to arrive at Woodview at about 3:35 PM.  This will allow our buses to be able to maneuver through the parking lot to the front of the building.  Once the last bus has departed, we will dismiss our walking and pick-up students, and cars can pick up students on the sidewalk in front of the building (please reference our parking lot pick-up procedure in the September newsletter and/or our Student and Family Handbook online).

--4K students will be lined up at the east end of our front sidewalk at the end of the day with Ms. Kennedy and Ms. Kohlwey.  4K students who ride the bus home will be led to their bus by one of them.  Parents/Guardians picking up their 4K student must park in the JLMS parking lot and walk over to the sidewalk to pick up their child.

--As in the past, if you are waiting outside to pick up your child, please make sure to wait outside our front doors so that we can keep our front lobby clear and student traffic moving smoothly.

We certainly appreciate all your patience, help, and flexibility as we transition to our new schedule and dismissal procedures.  Enjoy the Labor Day weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone on Tuesday!

Sincerely,

Nathan Joynt
