PTG Fundraising Representative Needed

At Monday's PTG meeting, a number of parents volunteered to help out with the open PTG Board positions, including President (election will be held at the May meeting) and Treasurer.  We certainly appreciate their willingness to lead and help; however, there is still an opening for the Fundraising Board position.  Please consider whether you (or you and another parent) would be able to fill this position on the PTG Board.  The strong partnership between the PTG and the school has resulted in a number of educational improvements for our students.  The staff at Woodview greatly appreciate all the support that the PTG provides, as it helps us to better serve the needs of all our learners.  Anyone interested in the opening should contact Vicki Garvey at egarvey2@wi.rr.com or 414-405-5171.

Please Keep In Mind School Starts Promptly at 8:00 AM
Our teachers make it a goal to use every minute of instruction available during the school day. As a reminder to families, instruction begins at 8:00 AM everyday. Lately, we have noticed an increasing number of students consistently arriving after the 8:00 bell. Not only do they miss out on their own instruction, but they also unintentionally interrupt the learning of other students already in the classroom as they open their desks to get materials and get prepared for the day. It may not seem like arriving 3-5 minutes late is a big deal, but as a daily occurrence over the course of an entire school year, that adds up to approximately 540 - 900 minutes of lost instruction and learning per year, the equivalent of about two full school days. We understand that life and weather happen and students may occasionally arrive late, but we are asking our families' help in making sure that students are here at school and ready to begin learning at 8:00 AM everyday. Thank you for your efforts on this matter.

REMINDER: End of the Day Student Pick-Up
Please remind your child that if they are waiting for you to pick them up at the end of the day, they need to wait at the front of the school building, not on the sidewalk east of the building or on the playground. Only students whose parents are with them can be playing on the playground, as we do not have supervision available for that area after school, and we want to make sure that students are safe and with an adult. Thank you for your help in reminding your child of this expectation.

Classroom Wishlists
Do you have items just waiting to be donated? If so, we may have found someone who can use them.  We recently asked our teachers what items they could use in their classrooms and many of the items we have in our homes, yet no longer have a use for them. Please see the following link for details on needed items.   wishliststuff letter
